Mesa Sushi

Selected as a Best of CitySearch is Sekai Sushi on South Gilbert Road. Squeezed between a grocery store and a fast food restaurant, Sekai Sushi has a warm and quaint feel complete with traditional Japanese décor. This restaurant has traditional rolls, specialty rolls and a list of daily specials. Upon seating, attentive wait staff serve up complimentary soba noodles and the meal is ended with sweetened orange half. The fish at Sekai is fresh, delicious and only the best quality. A few standouts include the Hot Lava Roll, the house smoked salmon and the soft-shell crab rolls. For those who are not fond of sushi, non-sushi standouts include the chicken teriyaki, calamari and the vegetable tempura.

At, the sushi bar at Asia is the best location for sushi in Mesa. This small hidden restaurant has a hip and modern interior complete with a black, white and red décor. The sushi bar serves as the focal point. Everything at Asia is made in house and the restaurant features live music many nights of the week. A few of the more memorable rolls at Asia include the Viva Vegas Roll and the Big Buddha Roll which is double wrapped with soy paper, crab meat, cream cheese, salmon and avocado.

Saketini Japanese Sushi Bar is located on South Dobson Road near Mesa Community College. The sushi is made with only the freshest fish and ingredients with specialties’ including the nigiri sushi and meat and fowl creations. The sushi menu is extensive with both raw and cooked choices. Diners rave about the Firecracker Roll and Volcano Roll, both of which are baked to perfection, and the big, chunky, spicy salmon and tuna rolls. Saketini has daily specials including a happy hour, half off rolls and reverse happy hour.
